This is about marquee hire on Shark Island in Sydney. The event,  a wedding reception with around 100 guests took place one Saturday in March. The marquee and catering tent was set up on Friday, in about 4 hours once we got off the barge. Dismantle then took place on Sunday and again took around 4 hours to complete the removal of all hire items.

All transport to and off the Shark Island was included in the cost and organised by Event Marquees. The booking of the Island was organised by the client.

The booking of the Shark Island which is a part of Sydney Harbour National Park must be done through the The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).

The Shark Island is available for private, exclusive events, with events for over 100 people, the booking of the island is compulsory. The maximum of guests attending any event on the Island is 500. The Island is available for events every day of the year week the exception of the Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day and Australia Day. Marquee hire on Shark Island is perfect for:

Venue fees:
Exclusive hire of the Shark Island costs $3300.00/per day; Wedding Ceremony Consent fee is $330.00 (that is for wedding ceremonies where the venue is not hired exclusively- under 100 guests attending).

General amenities on the Shark Island include access to power (including 3 phase – must be booked), flush toilets, some picnic tables and benches and also drinking water.

The marquee set up by Event Marquees was a 10m x 15m clearspan, free standing marquee with 10m x 15m Integrated wooden flooring with steel sub-strcuture, and required 6 workers for both the marquee assembly & dismantle. Other marquee accessories included arched windows, 6′Round tables, white folding chairs, silk roof lining and catering equipment including Mobile Coolroom.
